Your privacy is up for a vote this week, and you have a chance to do something about it.
Last week, we asked you to call on technology companies to withdraw their support of the controversial Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act. Access, coordinating with other organizations, launched a weeklong protest against CISPA. Since then, over 25,000 of you have responded and signed our open letter.
Then the avalanche came - the media began sounding the alarm, lawmakers began backtracking, and then the White House came out in opposition to CISPA.
The US House of Representatives is set to vote on CISPAthis Thursday, and we need to turn up the pressure. CISPA allows for the unlimited sharing of personal information between private technology companies and the government. If we convince the technology companies to withdraw their support, this bill will likely topple.
Time is winding down. Sign our open letter to technology companies urging them to stand for user privacy and drop their support of CISPA.
